Official vivo NEX 2 Renders Showcase Dual Display Design, Triple Rear Cameras
It has the same all-display front panel of its predecessor
vivo is set to launch a successor to its all-screen NEX flagship soon with the NEX 2. Official renders have surfaced ahead of its supposed December 11 launch, and vivo found a way to ditch the pop-up selfie camera of the original NEX: by utilizing a dual-screen approach a la Nubia X.
What makes vivo’s approach different is its use of a triple rear camera array at the back, with the primary camera boasting of a f/1.3 aperture—the brightest in any smartphone right now. In addition, the 5.5-inch secondary display has a so-called Star Ring, though it is unclear as to what is its function.
As for the front, the NEX 2 retains the OG NEX’s 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED main display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering it is a Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 10GB RAM and Android Pie.
No word yet if vivo will bring this phone to our shores. If they will, expect a steep price for it given its design and features.
