BlackBerry DTEK50 offers a 5.2-inch IPS Display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. With a pixel density of 424 ppi, the display should look brilliant. BlackBerry DTEK50 sports a 13 megapixels rear camera and an 8 megapixels front-facing camera.
Hardware and Software
BlackBerry DTEK50 is just the second Android phone from BB, behind the BlackBerry Priv. It runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with 3GB of RAM. The SoC offers two quad-core processors; one clocked at up to 1.5GHz and the other at up to 1.2GHz.
The unusual name of the smartphone, which sounds more like the kind of name scientists reserve for Asteroids and Meteoroids stems from the security software called DTEK preloaded on the smartphone.
The DTEK software protects the user from malware and spyware making the smartphone secure. BB is also promising regular Android updates and frequent security patches for the BlackBerry DTEK50, which will also help in keeping the smartphone secure.
BlackBerry DTEK50 is loaded with a 2610 mAh Li-ion Battery with fast charging Quick Charge 2.0 that charges the battery to 50% in just 51 minutes. It supports super fast data downloads on 4G LTE. It sports NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0.
